Moonwise newsletter for Rowan Moon 2020
This newsletter is coming out ten days early, to give you a last chance to buy presents for your family and friends ... and yourself!

Thank you to all of you who’ve bought your 2020 Moonwise Calendars and Diaries already, of course.

Whether or not you are happy with the results of the recent UK general election, let’s hope that we can all work together in Britain, Ireland and the rest of the world towards a compassionate, viable future for us all.

In the last part of Birch Moon fall the Solstice, Hanukkah and Christmas, and in Rowan Moon we celebrate the Gregorian New Year, and the build up to the Chinese Lunar New Year at Dark Moon.

At Birch Dark Moon, on 26 December, there is an annular eclipse of the sun over southern Asia, and at Rowan Full Moon, on 10 January, there is a penumbral eclipse of the moon visible from Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and the Arctic. These eclipses are hard to see, but look out for it around 19:10, British and Irish time, when you may see some darkening of the moon’s southern limb. Venus is the bright evening star.

Click the pictures at the top of the order form to see other ranges of books and games that we sell at Edge of Time.

I will dispatch all calendars and diaries ordered before noon on Monday 23 December by first class post on the same or following working day.

Happy festivities to you all!
Rowan or mountain ash is the tree of birth and enlivening. It is often found near stone circles and other holy places. It was once as common as yew in Welsh churchyards. Use a wand of the wood for divining; hang sprigs of it from doorways or wear them secretly in clothing. Rowan can grow in high places, and up to 18m tall, and live for 100 years or more. A rowan tree growing in front of your house serves not only to protect you but as a sign of welcome and a herald of beauty. Make rowan jelly from the plentiful red berries.
