I am looking for contributions for the 2011 Moonwise Diary, to be published in September 2010. The absolute deadline is likely to be early August 2010, but I’d be very grateful if you can send me your work as long before that as possible.

I am looking for both artwork and writing, on the themes of religion (particularly Paganism, but also others), nature and the cycle of the year, and especially of the moon and the goddess and god. Do send contributions as early as possible, even though I probably won’t finalise the layout until the last moment before going to press in August 2010. I will, however, endeavour to acknowledge receipt of anything you send! I can’t offer cash payment, but in return for your work, I will offer a good discount on any number of Moonwise Calendars and Diaries you buy.

Please send contributions to wizard@moonwise.co.uk, as far as possible. If there are things you wish to send through the post, contact me first, and I will let you know my home address. You do not need to send stamped addressed envelopes, and I will return all I receive (unless you tell me not to).

Pictures:
A good scan is much better for me than a photocopy, which I would have to scan in anyway.
A scan at 300dpi should be easily sufficient, and bearing in mind that most artwork will be reduced, a lower resolution such as 150dpi is possible.
If the original is in colour, please send me a colour version, unless you have a mono version of it you particularly like.
Send electronic art as TIFFs if possible; if you send them in JPEG format instead, please ensure they are high quality JPEGs.
Black-and-white and colour photographic prints are great; if you wish to send slides, please let me know, and I will give you the address of my colleague who has a slide scanner! He will take great care of them, and return them to you as soon as he has scanned them.

Writing:
I am very pleased to receive handwritten or typed contributions, but it does mean I have to type them in, with the risk that I may mistype or mistake what you have written, or upset the format you wanted (though I try to be careful), so:
If you are able to send these by e-mail, please do.
Either include them as part of the normal text of a message (this is the most straightforward thing to do), or send them as Word, Quark or InDesign attachments.

I am very happy to receive illustrations with writing, and explanatory text with pictures.

With all contributions, please enclose your name, and if you wish your name to appear in print in a particular way, do let me know. Make sure you have given me titles for your contributions, if they have them.

I look forward to hearing from you. The material you send gives the diary real character and worth, and it can be very satisfying (and maybe useful) for you to have published work.
